ABOUT DAWN

SeaWorld’s signature show — about a child who grows up to swim with the mighty orcas — was in many ways the story of Seaworld trainer Dawn Brancheau. At the age of just nine years old, Dawn made her first visit to the Orlando theme park and set her heart on becoming a whale trainer. She wasn’t the first kid to ever declare such a bold career dream. But this little girl stuck to it. The story of Dawn is inspiring. Not only is it a story of determination, drive and ambition, but proof that no dream is too big or out of reach. If you really want something, it will happen - as long as you BELIEVE.

In February 2010, Dawn tragically passed away doing a job that she loved and had dreamed of doing for the majority of her life, and spent an amazing sixteen years living the dream at Seaworld in Orlando. Dawn worked at the parks Sea Lion and Otter Stadium before finally landing her dream role working with whales two years after joining the park.

In her memory, Dawn's family with the support of Seaworld have put together the Dawn Brancheau Foundation to support the charities and causes that Dawn held close to her heart. To make a donation to the fund, please check the contact details below.
